Research Project Linda Botterill is engaged in research into the role of political science in the obesity debate. There is a concern across the Western world about the so-called obesity epidemic. Epidemiologists, medical practitioners, lawyers and others have weighed into the debate – many of them calling for government action in response. However, there has been little or no analysis by political scientists of the debate or the types of policy instruments that may be available, their efficacy and the associated risks.
